Through My Father's Eyes

DAY 6 OF 6

Day 6: My Glory Revealed

Definition of Glory: Great admiration, honour, and praise that you earn by achieving something.

I grew up in church, and I will forever be grateful for the godly foundation that was laid during my upbringing. One interesting observation I've made is that I have become so familiar with many Christian terms used in church that these words often lose their awe-inspiring meaning due to that familiarity. One such expression is “Glory to God!” The word “glory” is frequently used in sermons and songs, yet if you asked people to define it, they might struggle to articulate its meaning. Perhaps the most challenging question is: What does it mean to be God’s glory revealed? How does my life bring glory to God?

I found it challenging to write this devotional because I grappled with these same questions. Then I recalled Psalm 19:1 AMP, which states, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands…” This scripture reminds us that even though the heavens have no voice, they proclaim the magnificent glory of God. The sun, the moon, and the stars do not strive to be anything other than what they were created to be; in simply being themselves, they reflect the glory of their Creator. God’s glory is magnified in our lives when we embrace who He intended us to be—a unique expression of Himself on earth. Conversely, God's glory in our lives diminishes when we pretend or settle for anything less than what He created us to be. There is only one you, and when you see yourself through His Word (the Bible) and awaken to the truth of who He says you are, you will inevitably become who He calls you to be. With the help of the Holy Spirit, who guides us to become more like Christ, we can realise that in our becoming, we truly reveal God’s glory.

About this Plan

Through My Father's Eyes

Through My Father’s Eyes provides a refreshing reminder of how God the Father looks at us. It invites us to see ourselves through God’s lens by paying attention to the definition and meaning of words. It is my prayer that as you read this Bible Plan, it will usher you into a place of peace and renewed identity.
