Definition of Masterpiece

1. A work done with extraordinary skill; especially: a supreme intellectual or artistic achievement (Merriam-Webster).

2. A work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship (Oxford Dictionary).

Believe it or not, you are a BIG deal! I hope you come to believe this truth. In Ephesians 2:10 (NLT), God describes you as His masterpiece: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

You were created with extraordinary skill, showcasing supreme intellectual and artistic craftsmanship. Often, we marvel at the breathtaking landscapes our beautiful planet offers. Just think about the wonder of the stars in their glory! It’s easy to see how these can be considered masterpieces. However, when God looks at all He has created, He marvels at you the most. Why? Because you are His masterpiece. Every stunning landscape and brilliantly lit night sky pales in comparison to the wonder of who you are. After all, you were created in His image.

For many, believing this can be difficult because we've spent years hearing and internalising the opposite message. We've come to believe that we are anything but masterpieces. But today, I encourage you to reject those lies, which come from people who didn’t create you and therefore don’t get to define you. Change that narrative and embrace the truth: you are your Father’s masterpiece, the crowning jewel of His creation. Yes, you are a big deal! Marvel at that truth the next time you look in the mirror—this is how God sees you! Through your Father’s eyes, He says, “You are my masterpiece.”
