Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoნიმუში

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8 NKJV).
Do you live humbly before God?
Satan, originally an anointed cherub in heaven, fell due to pride. God created him with limitations since he’s not eternal (Ezekiel 28:13-15). He appears before God in heaven to account for his activities until the mid-Tribulation when he’s expelled (Revelation 12:7–9).
I pray you understand the serious consequences of pride. After all, God and pride don’t mix. For this reason, James commands believers to bow before the Almighty. He writes, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10 NKJV). Believers should learn to be humble and escape the sin which the devil fell into.
Employment Point: Wrap yourself with humility because God opposes pride but gives favor to the humble.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
