Faith That Feels Real: Part 3 - Finding God in Communityნიმუში

The lie says: If I open up, I’ll be rejected. It feels safer to stay hidden, to keep the “3%” of ourselves tucked away. But hiding to protect ourselves from rejection only guarantees the loneliness we fear. In rejecting ourselves first, we shut others out—and miss the connection we were made for.
Scripture reminds us that God’s power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) and that healing comes through confession and prayer in community (James 5:16). God’s design for healing includes honesty—real honesty with safe people. Vulnerability isn’t weakness; it’s risk with a purpose. The reward is discovering that we are still loved when fully seen.
Not everyone will respond perfectly, but some will—and they cannot offer acceptance if we never give them the chance. Healing requires honesty, and honesty requires courage.
Reflect & Apply:
- Where are you most tempted to hide right now?
- How could your day look different if you let yourself be honest with someone you trust?
- What one step of vulnerability could you take this week—just a little more risk than last time?
