God Is in Control

DAY 15 OF 30

Day 15: Trusting in God's Perfect Timing

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Waiting is perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of trusting God. Our world has become accustomed to instantaneous food, information, and results, but heaven has a different clock. God's delays are not denials, and His timing is not our timing. It is perfect timing.

Mary and Martha learned this when Lazarus fell ill. They expected Jesus to come immediately, but He waited two days before coming to them. To human eyes, it seemed too late. "Lord, if you were only here," they said. But Jesus was not late. He arrived at just the right moment to perform a miracle greater than they could have imagined.

How often do we interpret waiting as God's absence? We want healing now, provision today, answers yesterday. But God sees the whole, not just the moment. He knows that some dreams require preparation, that some promises require maturity, and that certain miracles only shine at the right time.

Biblical history is full of servants of God shaped by waiting: Abraham and Sarah, who waited twenty-five years for the promised son; Joseph, who spent years in prison before becoming governor; David, who was anointed king but waited years to assume the throne; and Moses, who lived decades in the desert before leading the Exodus. Delay was never rejection, but preparation.

Waiting forges patience, deepens faith, and teaches us to depend on God more than on circumstances. It reminds us that we are not in control, but in the hands of the One who is faithful and good.

God's delays are purposeful; His timing is perfect, and His plans are good.

My Prayer:

Father, I confess that waiting is difficult for me. My heart desires quick answers, but I choose to rest in Your perfect timing. Teach me to learn through this process, to mature in faith, and to trust that the wait is preparing something greater. I surrender my timetable to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Questions to Reflect:

1. What situation in your life involved a longer wait than you desired?

2. What might God be working out in your heart or in your circumstances during this time of waiting?
