Holy, Healthy, Whole: Growing Fruits of the Spirit for Weight Loss and Wellnessნიმუში

Eat Gently
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31(NIV)
What would your life look like if you brought more gentleness into your eating?
In our microwavable, pre-packaged, fast-food culture, the thought of gentleness with food seems backward.
We want our food to cook faster, the flavor to be bolder, and the servings to be bigger than ever.
Yet for generations, the process of preparing food took hours. Sitting down to eat as a family was an expected part of every day.
Consider ways to incorporate more gentleness into your food and eating habits, such as:
- Slow down to savor each bite of food.
- Eat with others and share meaningful conversations.
- Speak gently to yourself about your body, your weight, and the food you eat.
Reflection: In what specific ways will you be gentler with your eating today?
Prayer: Lord, develop the fruit of gentleness in me when it comes to the way I eat. I often rush through, give in to cravings, or eat way past the point of feeling full. Then I beat myself up. Teach me ways to be gentle in every area of my life, especially when it comes to food. I trust you to do this work in me. Amen.
