Be Your Best to Give Your Best!ნიმუში

Day 5 — Desires Planted by God
There are sometimes dreams or visions that we have for our lives that we simply cannot shake. Even when life gets busy and we put them on hold, or when they feel too big and out of reach, they keep coming back time and time again.
The truth is that God values the dreams He has planted in our hearts. They are seeds that, when nurtured with faith, patience, and commitment, become incubators of a greater design that only He can fully reveal. Psalm 37:4 reminds us of a foundational truth we must keep in mind: “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (NIV). The psalmist is not inviting us to treat God like a vending machine, but showing us that when our hearts align with Him, the desires that rise within us are no longer just our own, but His—planted, cultivated, and blessed by Him.
This is why we must carefully evaluate which dreams we decide to follow. Some carry the imprint of our calling, while others are based out of selfish desires. Some stir our creativity, passions, and unique skills, while others call us to pursue something detached from the divine drive within us.
Most importantly, God’s design for your life includes your unique talents and passion (including ones you may not even know you have yet!), because it demonstrates that we do not have to choose between “what we love” and “what God wants,” they are synonymous with our life's purpose.
Of course, discerning what truly comes from God requires time, wise counsel, prayer, and listening, but it all begins with a simple question: “What if these desires were planted in me by God Himself?”
Reflect on the deepest desires in your heart—whether they concern ministry, career, family, business, or personal growth. If you began to treat these desires as divine seeds planted within you, how might it change the way you pursue your dreams and aspirations?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the dreams You have planted in my heart. Help me to distinguish them from those that do not come from You, and to cultivate with faith the ones that bear Your seal. Teach me to recognize that what You have entrusted to me is unique, precious, and possible. Amen.
