Submit To Christ.

As you submit to Christ, let His Power bind you and your spouse together as one. Submit your heart to Christ, and you will not fail. Let Christ handle the heart of your marriage, and you’ll find good success. Choose the path of life. Choose His Path. His Word is life. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 KJV. “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 KJV.

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for Dead is nekros (G3498), which means “One that has breathed his last, lifeless, deceased, departed, one whose soul is in heaven or in hell, destitute of life, or without life.” As we unpack what Jesus declared in Luke 9:59–60 KJV to this man, we notice that Jesus was not being harsh to this man’s desire to bury his father, but rather, Jesus declares in this passage, “Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60 KJV. When you dig deeper into this passage, Jesus declares something deeper than physically burying the dead.

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word nekros (G3498) also means “Spiritually dead, destitute of a life that recognizes and is devoted to God, inactive as respects doing right, destitute of force or power, inactive, and inoperative.” Let the dead bury the dead. Let the inoperative bury the inoperative. Let the inactive bury the inactive. Let the destitute of power bury the powerless. Let the spiritually dead bury the spiritually dead. As for you and your house—choose to follow Christ.

Sometimes, you have to let the dead bury the dead. Let Christ lead your heart. Become His Disciple and let His Power lead your pathway. Surrender your heart to Christ and let Christ lead your marriage. Follow His Way. Follow His Lively Pattern and get His Results.

Maybe you’re trying to fix your marriage with dead things, old ideas, and old frameworks. God is the Architect of marriage. He is the Architect of Love. God is Love. Let God do a new thing. Surrender to Him. Follow His Way. Become His Disciple. Become a disciplined one—a submitted one. Submit your heart to God and let Christ lead your path.
