WALK CONFIDENTLY IN GOD’S PATH TO FREEDOM
Proverbs 4:14-15 (NASB): "Do not enter the path of the wicked. And do not proceed in the way of evil people. Avoid it, do not pass by it; Turn away from it and pass on."
Mindful Minute: We have reached this point because we realize our behavior has created a sinful habit in us.
We find ourselves in places and doing things we know are not in alignment with God’s will for us. We say things we might not have otherwise said. We do things we may be ashamed of the next day. And we have the same conversations with ourselves daily while trying to navigate a new path, hoping we won’t have to keep asking forgiveness for the same repeated behavior over and over again.
From this point forward, it’s about being “all in” and not deviating from the path. We must succeed with determination and single-mindedness, putting one foot in front of the other during this time of exploring and committing to the path we believe we should follow moving forward. We must do what we need to do, removing the triggers long enough to find confidence in our ability to move forward with conviction about our choices.
We can, will, and should have faith in the promises of our Father so we can be set free from the spiritual battle that caused sin in us (turning away from God) and created the psychological slavery of what is now a life-interfering behavior/habit.
Prayer: Thank you for your wisdom, Father, in understanding where my weakness may lie. I look forward to the day when I will be able to confidently choose without a second thought because I have now found my strength in you. Please help me focus on removing as many distractions from my goal as possible and follow the path that leads to your will. With the power of your Spirit, I can avoid it, Father. I will be able to turn away from it and pass on it. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
