Transformed by His Promises

DAY 11 OF 30

STAND STRONG IN GOD’S POWER AND LIVE IN VICTORY

Ephesians 6:10-11 (NLT): "A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil."

Mindful Minute: If you’ve been a Christian for some time, chances are good you’re familiar with this verse. God’s Word has much wisdom and instruction for how to live our lives.

When it comes to life-interfering behaviors that are not in line with God’s will, the devil has many strategies to derail our efforts. When we look at the reasons we re-engaged in the past, we become aware of just how cunning he has been in tripping us up. During these 30 days, we will be able to put ourselves in many situations where we can stand firm against the strategies of the devil. We do not always have the luxury of knowing when temptations will come, but we can have a good idea of the times and places they may occur.

When we can anticipate our triggers, we can develop a plan. The plan starts with this verse and prayer. God’s armor elicits a picture of great strength, and we wear it with faith that we will see this through to victory. Run the film to the end of the temptation, and envision how you will come out of the situation on the other side of your choice.

Be honest with yourself about the most likely course of events following a choice to entertain this behavior. Conversely, picture how great you will feel about having integrity with yourself and God when you choose to persevere. When we envision the result, we have a direction to go.

Prayer: I am ready, Father, with a plan to thwart the cunning strategies of the enemy. Readily aware of the consequences, I will develop a strategy to get to the other side. I know my confidence will increase each time I practice, and I will build integrity with myself. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
