DAY 3 OF 30

LIVE EACH DAY GRATEFUL FOR GOD’S GOODNESS

Philippians 4:6 (NLT): "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done."

Mindful Minute: Sometimes, we can miss God’s specific instructions within verses. His Word is living and breathing, and with each reading, we can look for different ways to interpret it.

Today, we focus on thanksgiving. Much has been done in the world on the power of living a life of gratitude versus one of expectation. Many self-help remedies involve practices of gratitude. Not surprisingly, God is the one who first instructed us to be grateful thousands of years ago. Ezra 3:11 (NLT) says, “With praise and thanks they sang this song to the Lord.” Psalm 7:17 (NLT) states, “I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT) says, “Be thankful in all circumstances. This is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

We focus our gratitude on God because good things are from God, who is our Ultimate Provider. When we begin to understand that the world is inherently broken, we can be truly grateful for the good God has gifted us with grace, love, forgiveness, and relationship.

When gratitude and thanksgiving for all that our Creator provides are a focus of our daily lives, we can create a narrative that looks for something good and offset the negative with gratefulness. It will help us to look forward to something better and shift our mindset to His truth.

Prayer: Thank you for your wisdom, Father. I know everything good in this world originated from you. I will commit to practicing gratitude each day. I trust in you, Father, to see the world differently despite my current circumstances. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Transformed by His Promises

Break free from destructive behaviors and be renewed by God’s promises—one prayer, one gratitude, one reflection at a time. Life’s struggles, temptations, and wounds can trap us in destructive patterns. But God’s promises bring hope, healing, and transformation. In Transformed by His Promises, spend 30 days renewing your mind through Scripture, prayer, and gratitude journaling. Each day: pray the Lord’s Prayer slowly and with intent, list 10 things you’re grateful for, and record any reflections from your reading. These spiritual practices help break old habits, replace fear with faith, and anchor your life in God’s truth.
