USE YOUR FREEDOM TO LOVE AND SERVE
Galatians 5:13 (NLT): "For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
Mindful Minute: God has always given us the ability and freedom to choose our own path.
He left us with the Holy Spirit to discern good from evil. The habit cycle that led to our need to be here today created psychological slavery, the opposite of freedom. Freeing the time we spent in the past on this habit gives us the opportunity to create new ones.
Time spent engaging in this life-interfering behavior took us away from being present with ourselves and others. It did not give us the promised relaxation, enjoyment, or a solution to a problem we faced. What self-care habits could you consider incorporating into your life that remind you that you matter? It should be something that provides authentic peace, relaxation, and joy. When we practice love and care for ourselves, it is easier to love and care for others.
Prayer: Father, thank you for the freedom to choose. Today, I choose you and want to spend more time on self-care and self-love for the purpose of loving those around me more passionately. I want the Holy Spirit to be experienced through me. Thank you, Jesus. In your name, I pray. Amen.
