Three times Peter denied Jesus. Although Peter has seen Jesus and been with him since his resurrection, the shadow of his actions remains. Jesus knows Peter’s heart. For three denials, Jesus offers Peter three questions. “Peter, do you love me?” For what shame does in secret, Jesus offers absolution in the light and a new way forward. “Feed my sheep.”
