Come, Follow Me: A 30 Day Journey With Jesus

DAY 27 OF 30

Peter has denied Jesus three times, just as Jesus predicted. Peter’s shame is total, complete. The very thing he said he would never do, is done. How do you come back from that? Now that Jesus is dead there is no opportunity for remorse or apologies, it’s just Peter left in the misery of his own shame and pain. Out of this darkness comes a sliver of light. An angel appears to the women attending Jesus' burial and they are told of Jesus' resurrection. With the good news comes a very explicit instruction – “…go tell the disciples AND PETER”! Two small words, easy to miss, but their meaning is clear. This is by no means the end of the story for Peter. Judas may not have been able to face his own shame, but Jesus had other ideas for Peter.

Based on your reading today, how is God calling you to Follow Him? Consider any attitudes to adopt, actions to include, or responses to offer.
