Growing in Faith | Mini Devotions for Womenნიმუში

Use these mini devotions to grow your faith and ground your day. Joanna Teigen's devotional offers reminders of the truth for women of all ages.
The Money Trap
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Luke 16:13, NIV
Money can buy lots of fun. It’s the ticket to movies, theme parks, and concerts. It’ll get all the gadgets you dream of at the store. It pays for travel to exciting destinations. Money offers security, too. It meets our need for food and clothing. Bills get paid, and the house and vehicle stay in good repair.
With the good that money can do, our hearts are tempted to love it too much. We can depend on it for happiness or trust it to keep us well and safe. It becomes a hard master, driving us to gain more and more.
God knows serving money will keep us from loving Him. We can’t run after money and follow Jesus, too. We’ll become discontent, selfish, and fearful of losing it all. The gifts of God’s peace and abundant life will slip away. Today, let’s remember the Giver of all our money. His love is free, and it’s better than anything money can buy.
