Hebrews Part 2: Selfish Christianityნიმუში

Let the Bible Read You First
As you read Hebrews, it is best to use it as a mirror for yourself instead of binoculars to look at other people. Too often, a religious reading of the Bible is like binoculars – looking at other people in judgment and the things they need to learn from the Scriptures.
While it is wonderful to share encouraging Scriptures and Bible promises with others, we need to begin by looking at them like mirrors, humbly seeking the beliefs and behaviors that need to change in our own lives as we come into agreement with God’s Word.
Another way you can benefit from reading God’s Word is by taking notes in your Bible. Feel free to mark it up with notes and highlight the sections that the Holy Spirit highlights in your heart and mind.
The Bible is a sacred tool, and, like any tool, it is meant to be used and show some wear and tear. This will increase your retention of what you read and allow you to return to it later as needed.
Do you tend to use the Bible as a mirror to examine your own heart and actions or as binoculars to judge others?
