A Practical Guide for Transformative Growth Part 1ნიმუში

WHERE - Transformation Works from The Inside Out
Jesus is not interested in the appearance of maturity (if that’s even possible). Jesus is doing a redemptive work that starts with the renewed spirit, moves through our heart, mind, will and emotions, and is eventually manifested in our behavior. The last step will be our redeemed physical bodies when Christ comes again. Any attempt at growth through behavior modification and sin management is an exercise in futility. Sometimes, well-meaning leaders will attempt to provoke change through fear and shame. For example, using messages that describe the torture of hell in detail, or even publicly exposing people’s sins and condemning them. Know that this will seldom yield the intended result. A mature person naturally acts like Christ because their desires have become Christ’s desires. It is not a forced behavior motivated by an attempt to avoid pain. When leaders use outward coercion to ‘make’ people holy, it usually creates behaviors that keep them from true holiness. Some strive and slog through life, always at war with their inner impulses and others simply hide their sin instead of getting help to genuinely change (of course, some may also exercise the option to leave the church altogether).
