WHEN - Transformation Begins with Christ

The process of becoming mature starts with an unveiled beholding of Christ. It does not begin when you start attending a church. It does not begin at First Communion or when you say the sinner’s prayer. It does not begin when you get baptized. Any of these moments can be accompanied by an encounter with Christ but it is the encounter, not the event, which initiates the process of transformation. It can begin with God speaking to you in the privacy of your bedroom, or maybe you get touched at a conference by the power of God, or maybe your heart is deeply impacted by God through a sermon or reading your Bible one day. For me, it happened during a time of prayer at home. There were no witnesses and no fanfare. Just a moment when God showed up for me. It doesn’t matter how; all that matters is that you came into contact with the living God, and it changed you. Transformation comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. It begins with a touch from God.
