21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Lectio Divinaნიმუში

Preparation: Today, you’ll be reading from Matthew 14:22-33. Before you begin, take a moment to be aware of God’s presence right where you’re at. He wants to speak to you today!
Read: The first step is to read. As you read the passage, write down any words or phrases that stand out to you.
Reflect: The second step is to reflect on the passage. As you read the passage again, notice what emotions come up within yourself. Identify yourself with a specific character in the story and make a note of that as well.
Respond: Now respond. As you read the final time, listen for God’s voice speaking to you. What is He saying, and how do you need to respond to Him?
Rest: The final step is to rest in God's presence. While many things are fighting for your attention, take a few minutes to be still in silence, meditate on God’s Word, and rest in Him.
Pray: Take a moment to pray on your own or use this prayer as a guide:
Thank you, Lord, for your word. Thank you that in the middle of the storms of this life, you are above it all. You are not shaken by what shakes me. Help me to trust you, Lord, as you call me to step out in faith and walk with you. Thank you for your faithfulness–that even when I am faithless as Peter was, you remain faithful to pull me back up. I rest in you today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
