WHEN YOU DON’T DIE

Perhaps the greatest lie Satan has perpetrated on the human race today is this gem: “You only live once.” That may be a great slogan for a bumper sticker, but, to employ a Southernism, “it just ain’t true.” God has made it expressly clear that every man lives forever. The issue isn’t whether he lives forever, but where he’ll be living when forever starts. Let’s get personal about this: If you really believe that you’re going to live forever, then how has that affected you in the here and now? How does it affect the way you live or how you view the world around you? There are likely dozens of ways to answer that question, but what stays at the forefront of my mind is this: since I’m going to live forever, how I live here on earth and what I leave behind me matter a lot, because my life’s work will live beyond me—here on earth, anyway.
