Adore - the Teen Girl's Guide to Adventნიმუში

The Greatest Gift
What are you hoping for this Christmas? What is the coolest gift you could get?
Imagine if someone went and bought you the one thing you always wanted. How would you respond to that person?
A long time ago, the Israelites were desperately hoping for the best gift ever - the Messiah. The prophets told Israel that a baby would someday be born who was God in human skin. This baby would grow up to be a righteous King who would save everyone. He would rescue His people and free them from their bondage.
Year after year, the people searched, hoped, and waited anxiously for this prophesied baby. Finally, the day came! A girl named Mary was visited by an angel. The angel told her that she would become the mother of the Messiah. Mary wondered how this could be since she was unmarried and still a virgin. But the angel told her that God was powerful enough to do anything. She would soon become the mother of the Messiah, and He was to be named Jesus. In complete faith, Mary told the angel that she believed in God’s words.
Months later, baby Jesus was born through Mary. The whole world received the Messiah - the best gift ever. As Jesus grew up, He did every single thing that was originally prophesied about the Messiah! He saved people from their sins and gave them a new hope of heaven. He did it for every human on the planet, including you and me.
Even though you and I might hope for Christmas gifts this year, we have already received the best gift we could ever hope for Christmas! That gift is baby Jesus.
