The Face of Transformationნიმუში

Day 3 - Devotional
The place that Jacob and his flourishing tribe has settled is a camping ground near the river. Esau is coming. Has there been enough time for Esau’s red-hot vengeance towards his brother to simmer down? Jacob can’t go back, he even attempts to let Esau know through messengers where he had come from. The only way now is to go forward.
All of a sudden, Jacob begins to wrestle with a mysterious person. Who would it be?
It was God! The mystery man is now revealed to be God Almighty, in human form, wrestling with Jacob. He isn’t there just to fight with him, but for him! Jacob is face to face with God, who promised to be with him all along his journey. The Father has stayed true to His promise, even in the face of failure after failure by Jacob.
Questions to ponder:
What does it mean to come face to face with God? How can we experience that?
Is there something you need to wrestle with God about?

About this Plan

Hebrews 11 highlights many of the heroes of the Bible, including Jacob. The deeper you dig into Jacob's life, you begin to see that he’s a mess. But what if the people in the Bible aren't just heroes to imitate, but people to walk with on their own journey of faith? Let’s walk through the life of Jacob, and see his life transformed by the grace of God.
