The Face of Transformationნიმუში

Day 2 - Devotional:
Especially after failure, it is easy to write yourself or someone else off as a lost hope, wasted potential, or beyond the point of no return. Thankfully, Jacob’s story is far from over, and it goes with one of the golden go-to lines for preachers – "if you have a pulse, you have a purpose." Even as Jacob sets his course for this journey, God has set a meeting place up for Jacob to begin his journey with Him. In fact, the Bible even calls it a “certain place” (Gen. 28:11). There he is, present with God! It’s the love of God that is conveyed to Jacob at a time when he would’ve needed it the most. God speaks directly to Jacob when he is on his journey. Words that bring comfort for the traveler far from anything he knows.
- I am with you.
- I will watch over you wherever you go.
- I will not leave you.
In the darkest hour of his life, light shines through the darkness for Jacob with the lovingkindness of God!
Questions to Ponder:
How can you become more aware of God’s presence?
What is something that you are discovering about yourself?
What do you think God wants to talk with you about today?

About this Plan

Hebrews 11 highlights many of the heroes of the Bible, including Jacob. The deeper you dig into Jacob's life, you begin to see that he’s a mess. But what if the people in the Bible aren't just heroes to imitate, but people to walk with on their own journey of faith? Let’s walk through the life of Jacob, and see his life transformed by the grace of God.
