Il nostro catechismo rappresenta la fede evangelica e protestante, presentata in 5 parti, composte da 101 domande e risposte. La parola “chiesa” evoca immagini di locali di culto, ma l’uso della parola nella Bibbia è legato alla comunità dei credenti in Cristo. Nel Nuovo Testamento troviamo che la Chiesa ha un duplice aspetto. Da una parte, tutti i credenti sulla terra in questo momento assieme a tutti quelli che sono “morti in Cristo” nei secoli scorsi costituiscono la “Chiesa Universale”. Dall’altra parte i credenti che si incontrano in una determinata località formano la “chiesa locale”. In questo piano esamineremo soprattutto la Lettera di Paolo agli Efesini per capire il concetto biblico di chiesa, sia universale che locale.
