Therefore y’all produce fruit worthy of repentance!

And a voice from the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and coming on him.

“I baptize y’all with water for repentance, but the one who comes after me is stronger than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize y’all in the Holy Spirit and fire.

Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce beautiful fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Y’all prepare the way of the Lord [YHWH]! Make his paths straight!’”
