40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

DAY 35 OF 40

Decision fatigue is real. But you can eliminate it with one practice: pre-deciding.

Daniel made his choice before the pressure came. Oftentimes, if we rely on the choices of those around us or the emotions of the moment, we will slip back into default mode. Proverbs says when you commit something to the Lord, He’ll establish it. That means He backs it. He builds it. He holds it all together.

In Jeremiah, we’re reminded that the Lord’s future plans for us are good and we can trust Him. He promises to give us hope in the final outcome of anything we’re facing. When we know this ahead of a situation, then we can rest and let Him lead the way. He longs to provide for our needs and protect us when we come to Him.

Don’t wait until the moment of temptation. Choose right now. Write it down. Pray about it. Even tell someone.

Your future self will thank you for the clarity of your present choice.

Prayer:
God, help me make wise choices in advance. Give me strength to follow through, and peace that my path is clear. I need you if I’m going to thrive, not merely survive.

Journal Prompt:
What’s one situation coming up where you can pre-decide your choice about alcohol? Write your decision like it’s already done.

About this Plan

40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

Have you found yourself at the end of a long day, wondering, “Is this glass of wine really helping? You’re not alone. Let's awaken your sober mind through presence, grace, and truth. We’ll explore what it means to pause, connect, and live in alignment. We’re going to look at what God’s Word says about freedom, peace, and wholeness. Each day, I encourage you to slow down and really reflect. Let this be more than just a reading. Let it be a rewiring. You are not broken. You’re being rebuilt. One day at a time, one choice at a time.
