DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2 – Even When It Seems Illogical

A divine opportunity does not always follow rational logic. It often requires trusting His wisdom over our own reasoning.

We learned that divine opportunities often appear where we feel most vulnerable, today we take one step further. While God calls us to trust His strength in the face of our weakness, He also asks us to surrender our logic—because the doors He opens do not always align with our reasoning or expectations.

In fact, there are moments when an opportunity presents itself without a clear or rational explanation. Everything within us may want to wait, analyze, and gain a better understanding, yet, something in our spirit quietly whispers that perhaps it is God who has orchestrated this opportunity. In fact, Faith teaches us to obey before we fully understand.

This is the second indicator that can reveal whether an opportunity is truly divine: an invitation to trust God's wisdom, despite challenging our logic.

This is what happened to Abraham. When Abraham was living in Ur with his family - enjoying stability and comfort in life - he was one day called by God to leave everything behind and go to an unknown land. Abraham received only one, short instruction from the Lord: “Go to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1–2). The author of Hebrews reminds us of the radical trust Abraham displayed when he followed God's instruction despite the unknown: “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance; he went out, even though he did not know where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8, CSB).

Abraham’s faith was not cautious, it was not logical—it was obedient. Furthermore, while his obedience may have looked reckless in the eyes of the world, it brought him directly into the center of God’s will for his life.

Similar to Abraham, we may also face choices that defy rational explanation: launching a project in uncertain times, investing in a cause that has no guarantee of succeeding, or saying yes to an opportunity that seems outside of our comfort zone. However, if we feel the Spirit of God prompting us to walk down this path that defies our human logic, then it is most likely a door that He is opening for us.

In moments like these, peace becomes our compass. Not a fleeting sense of calmness, but a profound peace that flows from total surrender to God.

Scripture assures us: “Do not worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer [...] And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7, CSB).

When we surrender and trust God, His peace will guard us and keep us from taking steps that would move us away from His perfect will—even when things do not seem logical (Proverbs 3:5–6).

God does not ask us to ignore logic, but He does ask that we not make it our only filter. As daughters of God, we are called to walk by faith—confident that He knows what lies beyond the limits of our human understanding.

In what area of life are you tempted to rely solely on your own logic? How can you choose today to surrender that decision to God’s leading?

Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to trust Your wisdom over my understanding. Lead me in the decisions I am called to make, following Your will even when things are unclear. Take me where You want me to go, knowing that Your plans for my life are far better than mine and that Your ways always lead to a purpose worth pursuing. Amen.
