RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16

DAY 19 OF 31

A Kingdom That Can’t Be Shaken

Get ready—today’s readings are bold, surprising, and full of hope.

In Amos 8–9, God delivers a sobering vision of coming judgment—but it doesn’t end there. Amid the warnings is a stunning promise: “I will raise up the booth of David that is fallen” (Amos 9:11 ESV). God is not finished. He is building something lasting—a kingdom rooted in justice, mercy, and restoration.

In Mark 10, a rich young man walks away from Jesus because the cost feels too high. But Jesus turns to His disciples and speaks words that turn everything upside down: “With man it is impossible, but not with God” (Mark 10:27 ESV). The life Jesus offers isn’t about earning or status—it’s about surrender and receiving far more than we could imagine.

Today’s readings remind us that God is shaking what’s unstable to build what will last.

Are you ready to be part of that?
Come expectant—there’s a kingdom to seek, a Savior to follow, and a mission to live.

About this Plan

RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16

This 16th installment of our Reading with the People of God plan invites you into the voices of the Minor Prophets—Hosea through Nahum—calling God’s people to return with sincerity and trust. Paired with the Gospel of Mark, we’ll hear Christ’s invitation to repentance and renewed faith. Each day includes readings from Psalms, the Old Testament, and the New Testament, with a brief devotional primer. May these readings draw you nearer to the Lord, awaken your heart to His mercy, and echo His faithful call: “Return to Me.”
