Be the Man They Need: Manhood According to the Life of ChristSýnishorn

Devotional
When we think of a prophet, we may picture someone in a robe shouting warnings or predicting the future. But prophecy is much more than that. At its core, prophecy is simply speaking God’s truth to the people around you. You don’t need to wait for a divine thunderous voice; the Word of God is already in your hands. With Scripture, you have everything you need to speak life, hope, correction, and direction.
Jesus was the ultimate prophet. He spoke the very words of God, and He was the Word made flesh (John 1:14). Everything He said and did revealed the heart and mind of God. In Deuteronomy, Moses prophesied that God would raise up a prophet like him. Jesus fulfilled that prophecy; He was the prophet who spoke perfectly the words of God, calling people to repentance, healing, and hope.
In His ministry, Jesus confronted corruption, challenged hypocrisy, and brought freedom to the oppressed. He foretold the destruction of the temple, His own death, and His glorious return. But His message wasn’t just about the future; it was about speaking truth into the present, calling people to turn toward God’s Kingdom.
As men, we are called to be prophets in our everyday lives. We are not called to predict the future, but to speak the truth of God into our relationships, our families, and our workplaces. We must be men who speak with conviction and humility, proclaiming the Word of God in love. Jesus showed us that love and truth go hand in hand, and as His followers, we’re called to do the same.
Challenge
This week, look for one opportunity to speak God’s Word into someone’s life, whether it’s encouragement, truth, or a reminder of His promises.
Prayer
Jesus, the Prophet, thank You for boldly speaking God’s truth. Help me to know Your Word and to speak it with courage and love. Make me a man who shares life-giving truth and never shrinks from proclaiming Your promises. Amen.
The Man We Needed
Jesus, the Prophet, revealed God’s heart with every word He spoke. He confronted, comforted, and called us to repentance. Now, by God’s grace, it’s your turn.
Be the man they need.
