The Art of Being StillSýnishorn

Exalted Among the Nations
God knows His children and understands that our journey to destiny can be challenging. So, occasionally, He will send us a message of encouragement that helps us to keep going as we continue our work.
It is said that many Psalms that are written describe the psalmist's crisis. Yet, David Guzik surmises that this psalmist began with God's provision.
He not only looked to God for help in a time of need but also found God's help, so he wrote from a place of knowing who God has been in his life specifically.
Throughout this Psalm, it is written in a way that helps us understand that we do not have to fear. We do not have to fear the things before us because God is bigger. Since God was bigger, this psalmist felt that fearing these things would be a dishonor to God.
Fear is a normal response. God often tells us not to fear because it is a natural response to fear what we do not have control over. Yet, when we measure our circumstances against our God, may our fear subside as we refocus our attention on the One who can handle all things.
As we walk through this Psalm, it transitions from telling us how God is a present help and refuge and a safe place in our lives to helping us understand God's wonderful majesty. It shares God's power and what He can do with His might. He wants us to realize that God can handle our trials because He is God.
As we lean into the art of stillness, we understand that it has less to do with actual physical movement and more to do with actual peace and quietness in God. We learn to stop forcing and striving and trust that God will be who He is and do exactly what He said He would do in our lives.
God isn't just over the current city or state you are in; God's power extends beyond that place. He has authority, dominion, and control over the entire land, the sea, the Heavens, and even beyond.
We can trust God.
