Go and Make Disciples — Walking in Christ’s Authority and Presence
As you prepare to embark on your Trek, let the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 be both your commission and your comfort:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'” (NIV)
All Authority on Heaven and Earth
This mission begins with a powerful truth: all authority belongs to Christ. You are not going out alone or relying on your own strength, which may feel limited or uncertain. Instead, you go under the sovereign rule of the One who has overcome sin, death, and every challenge. Whatever you face, Jesus’ authority is greater.
Charles Spurgeon reminds us, “Power in the hands of some people is dangerous, but power in the hands of Christ is blessed. Let Him have all power—He will always use it for what is right, just, and good.”
Go and Make Disciples
Jesus’ command to “Go” is personal and practical. For some, it means crossing borders, for others, stepping beyond comfort zones right where they are. Every believer’s life is a mission field.
The goal is to make disciples, not just share information but help others build a deep, lasting relationship with Jesus. Be ready to share your faith story and the truths of the Gospel. Practice how you’ll explain what Jesus means to you—this will prepare you to connect genuinely with those you meet.
I Am With You Always
Jesus ends this commission with a promise: He is with you always. His presence is your source of strength, peace, and protection.
When you feel unsure, tired, or overwhelmed, remember you are never alone. Jesus is walking with you, before you, and behind you. You don’t just work for Him—you work with Him.
May this journey be a powerful testimony to His love, and may you witness lives transformed by the Gospel.
Begin to pray now for boldness, guidance, and the joy of His presence every step of the way.
