The Breath of LentSýnishorn

As Jesus' journey leads him closer to the cross, we must also make that journey. We prepare for the events of Holy Week with an attitude of lament. Christ's impalement on the cross is for the sins of the world of which we are a part. Jesus paid a debt He did not owe. He was willing and resolute to complete the mission for which He was sent. We must also be resolute about yielding to the Father's mission for us.
This psalm of yielding is written in the first person, "…you know me…". The psalmist continues by saying God knows my actions before I move, my words before I speak, and my thoughts before I form them. And yet the writer continues by saying, "you guide me, you hide me, you hold me." This was more than proven by the way of the cross.
Let us prepare for the week that is to come with the following breath prayer:
Inhale: Lord, make me more aware
Exhale: of all You've done for me.
