"At peace with God" Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (Romans 5:11) The search for peace is something we can embark on for ourselves and by ourselves. Peace can be found in many places. Whether it be the spa, the gym or whatever place relaxes you, it's good to be intentional about seeking out well-needed sanctuary. The word sanctuary comes from the Latin ‘sanctus’ which means sacred or holy. In our search for peace, we must be careful not to forget that which is sacred. Our relationship with God has been reconciled through Jesus. Jesus has brought us into a living relationship with the Father, allowing us to be called friends of God. As with all meaningful friendships, we need to be honest and vulnerable for that relationship to deepen. Go to God with the things you need to surrender, seeking His loving kindness to give you peace. Ask that He continue shaping you into the likeness of Christ. After that conversation, reflect on how you can build a similar relationship with God, as He has called you a friend.
