Cooking Up Confidence (Week Three)

DAY 3 OF 7

Day Three - I can Serve the Lord

Yesterday we looked at how Samuel served the Lord from a young age, what it means to serve the Lord and how we are never too young to serve the Lord by helping others.  Today we are going to continue to look at how Samuel served the Lord by helping others.

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3

Remember the tabernacle was a huge tent, a very special place that God’s people came to worship God. It needed a lot of looking after!

Remember Samuel lived many, many years ago, so there would not have been electricity to light the tabernacle, so making sure all the candles and lanterns were lit would have been one of Samuels jobs.

This was all part of Samuel’s serving the Lord. He made sure that the tabernacle was always clean and tidy for God’s people to come and worship Him and Samuel loved serving the Lord and grew in his love for God and His people.

ASK:

Maybe you have a list of jobs you do to help out at home?

If not, maybe this is something you could ask your grown up about?

Can you think of the people who serve you?

Maybe you could thank them today?

REMEMBER:

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

PRAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news

that you gave to help us find our way.

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere!

We trust what Your word says.

You can use my words to share Your message

You are with me everywhere.

In Jesus's name,

Amen.
