This Prayer Guide is designed for students in First Priority to go through with the HOPE Cycle. The topics are the same as the HOPE Cycle and will help you learn to pray about things you are learning in First Priority. 

First Priority Prayer Guide: Choose Love

Dr. Seuss wrote that “you know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because the reality is better than your dreams.”  Is love your reality? In the first of these guided audio meditations, you discover how to love and be loved. The second meditation will help you detect the burdens of others and lighten them with love. And a final reflection on feeling the love by gathering with others.


Being Loved, and Loving Others

‘Spiritual gifts’ is a term we can get really hung up on. In this plan, we’ll look at all the spiritual gifts God gives us. Gifts to serve, gifts to love others, gifts to challenge one another, and gifts that leave a legacy. Gifts God has given us can change the circumstances around us because these gifts were given to shine His light, not our own.

The world calls us to live for ourselves. God, however, calls His children to live to a different standard. Join in this Abide meditation as we explore the core biblical values of living a life of radical obedience to Him.

Radical Obedience

The justice displayed in the life of Jesus is one motivated by love. A justice that is restorative and redemptive. A justice that is displayed with a hand outstretched, eyes that see and a heart opened. A justice centred in the cross. A justice so full of love, compassion, mercy and service it is extravagant!

Winnie the Pooh said that “some people care too much. I think it’s called love.” These guided audio meditations begin by encouraging you to be surrounded by others that care for and love you. The second meditation will help you remember to care for others.  And finally, a reflection on surrendering to the care of God. Remember that a few caring people can change the world! These guided meditations are reflections on joy, and they will help you learn how joy abides within every moment of your life.  And, they will help you rest and be still in the pleasure of God and then share His joy with others.
