Suffering

Troubling times raise questions: Why are we in this situation? Will we get out? How? What is God's place in all this? Does he really care? Throughout the Bible, people faced calamity, fear, anxiety, and doubt. They besieged heaven and found the God who answers in crisis. Guided by brothers and sisters from Africa, let's follow these biblical examples, trusting as we seek answers for our questioning hearts.

Trusting God in Times of Crisis

 On February 29, 1948, Richard Wurmbrand was arrested by the secret police. His crimes? Leading Christian worship and witnessing—both of which were illegal under the atheistic Communist regime of Romania. Because of his faithfulness to Christ, he endured 14 years of prison and torture. His wife, Sabina, suffered two years of forced labor. They emerged, not with melancholy or a bitter spirit, but with a story of victorious faith .

Grief is real—and it hurts. It isn’t something you can ignore, bury beneath the demands of daily life, or wish away overnight. You have to work through it. Rest assured, you can get beyond your grief. God doesn’t expect you to go through it alone—He promises to be with you every step of the way.
