How God Sees You

While culture may say that identity is self-defined and discovered, the Bible shows that our identity and worth is rooted in our relationship to God. Every Friday at the Sabbath meal, it is the Jewish tradition for the husband to sing the words from Proverbs 31:10–31 to his wife, praising her as an "eishet chayil," a “woman of valor.” It is the highest compliment one can bestow upon any woman. But what constitutes a woman of valor? The following devotions explore the qualities from the lives of the lives of 11 familiar biblical women.

A Woman of Valor

So often the word ‘obedience’ doesn’t draw out positive meaning. However, that is just what the Bible tells us it is. In the Bible, obedience is meant to bring freedom and joy. At its essence it is a demonstration of a life lived with God. This plan is intended to challenge our worldly definition of obedience and align our hearts and understanding to the heavenly definition.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of God until He will return to the earth to judge the living and the dead. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth. But in the meantime, how does it help you that Jesus is in heaven? This reading plan gives you four answers to this question.

Jesus left the church the vision of a movement when he challenged us to reproduce from our own Jerusalem into “Judea, Samaria and the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). For us to see a movement, we need every Christ follower to adopt Jesus' personal mission to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is core to the mission of Jesus and essential to accomplishing his vision.
