Nowadays, you don't have to be a believer to fast. There are therapeutic fasts, intermittent fasts, sweet fasts... The list could go on and on. This reading plan deals with fasting as a gift from God for us. Because through renunciation we can gain a new perspective on our lives and get to know God in a completely new way.

In this devotional, I will share why I chose social media as a form of fasting and four ways God revealed that it had become a distraction. As fasting from food serves to cleanse the body of its impurities, a fast from social media will help you return to the Lord, change your habits, and redirect your impulses to healthier choices.

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.

Take a 21-day journey of prayer and fasting with us as we seek to step into a deeper awareness of God’s presence and voice. Fasting is about giving up one thing to gain something better. By setting aside our earthly appetites, we make room to draw nearer to Jesus, align our hearts to hear His voice, to experience His presence in a deeper way, and to walk in the fullness of all that He has for us. In this plan, we'll have the opportunity to read Scripture and a devotional, meditate on a reflective prompt, and pray.

In difficult or urgent situations, biblical figures have fasted to see breakthroughs in the walls of adversity. Fasting is not a way of forcing God to hear us but an invitation to the manifestation of his power. I invite you in the next 3 days to discover the power of fasting combined with prayer for breakthroughs in situations that require a miracle.

It's time for our annual church fast, as we unite as a community to seek God together. Throughout this time, we're intentionally engaging with the Holy Spirit, and seeking His Guidance and Presence in our daily lives.

Join us as we engage in a three-day liquid fast from 27-29 January. This involves abstaining from solid foods (if it's medically suitable for you) to focus on prayer, and creating room to hear from God.
