100 Days of HopeEgzanp

So That
“So that.” Two words with profound implications. Two words that turn good into great. Two words that reflect the life of our Savior and His generosity toward us. Paul’s mandate to the church at Ephesus, and to us today, does not stop with helping the entrapped escape lives of sin and bondage. Nor does it stop with ensuring these unbound people find meaningful work. Our mandate includes more. It includes an invitation to equip and empower these freed people to be transformed so that they can help others to also be transformed.
It is a reciprocating cycle of service and generosity. We embolden those we serve to serve others. Who then embolden those they serve to serve others. And on and on it goes. Christ, out of His own riches, was generous toward us. He asked for more from us than to simply leave a life of sin. He asked us to reflect His act of love as we serve those around us. It’s a beautiful picture of Kingdom generosity.
Prayer: Father, help us to seek more from helping. Help us serve and give in a way that encourages others to serve and give.
