Day 4: Get Help

One of the main reasons why pornography is so difficult to conquer is because we frequently try to do it alone. It is not something that many people feel comfortable talking about in a public setting. So while many people are suffering from it, we often suffer alone.

When a task is difficult it is often easier to accomplish with the help of someone else. Beating pornography is no different. Tell someone about your struggles. Find someone you can trust who is following the Lord. Find a Bible based support group. Don’t allow the shame to keep you trapped. Freedom is within your reach – you only need to reach out.

The Bible tells us as believers to bear one another’s burdens. That is one of the many benefits of belonging to the family of God. I would like to introduce you to a program that does just that. Search for “The Freedom Fight” app in the App Store. It is an app that contains Bible based instruction for beating pornography. It also hosts a community of believers who will support you getting free. They also have a 30 day devotional in this YouVersion app called “Freedom from Porn Begins Here”. Both are excellent resources.

Never forget that God is your ultimate help. He’s the One you are to rely on no matter what. He has provided resources like the one I mentioned, but if all else fails, trust and rely on Him. He’ll direct you in the way you should go.
