What do you think it means to be a leader? Is it being the most popular person, doing the right thing, or showing up when it matters most? In John 13:34–35, Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment, one that would show other people that they were his followers: to love one another just as he had loved them. This love is not just an emotion, but an action. It is a call to lead through loving others.
Every day, you have a unique opportunity to lead with love in your interactions with classmates, teachers, and even people you don't know well yet. When you show kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, you are showing people what it looks like to follow Jesus.
Leading with love doesn't mean that you have to agree with everyone, or compromise your beliefs. It means that you treat others with respect and dignity, even if you don't see eye to eye. It means that you go out of your way to help those in need, even if it's inconvenient. It means that you extend grace and forgiveness, just as Jesus did for you.
Other people notice when you lead with love. Your actions speak louder than words, and you have the opportunity to impact those around you and point them to Jesus. Today, reflect on the past week and try to think about a few situations that reflected you leading with love.

When you hear the word "leader," you might think about an influential celebrity, a famous politician, a coach, or your new class president. Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is simply about becoming the kind of person who's worth following. But how?
