The Passion Week 3 - Reflection

We love to see good triumph, especially after a close battle. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Mission: Impossible, Superman, Wonder Woman. It’s all in the balance, back and forwards, and then the hero/ heroine comes through and conquers for the good of all humanity.

Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, a victory has been won. This is what God has done for us. God has acted to save and restore His people. Satan has lost. He’s been defeated, and victory has been claimed. Don’t believe otherwise because it’s not true. We can claim victory in Jesus.

So as Paul writes (quoting Isaiah 25:8 and Hosea 13:14), stand firm, give your work to the Lord because that work is not in vain. This is completely awesome! We have victory and eternal life because of Jesus. The perishable has been clothed with imperishable in the eternal life God offers. So we give ourselves fully to the work of our Lord.

Thank you, Lord, that you make all things new. Thank you for the victory and power in your name. Amen.
