PROVISION FROM THE FATHER’S HEART

From his abundance, we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself, God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:16–18

THOUGHT

With Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, we are no longer spiritual beggars and orphans, no longer spiritually homeless or abandoned. With Christ, we are no longer helplessly exposed to the elements of darkness that seek to harm us and bring us despair. We have protection in him, and we have provision through him.

In Christ, we are embraced by God’s unfailing, fatherly love and faithfulness. The prince of this world and his plans for destruction were interrupted and thwarted by the Prince of Peace. Grace triumphed over injustice, and goodness triumphed over evil. And in his abundant love, we have all received one gracious blessing after another!

PRAYER

Father, you are my provision for all things—beginning with the provision for the salvation of my soul. Thank you for delivering me from darkness and death, and thank you for an abundant life. Amen.

Give us today the food we need.
