GOODNESS ROAD
No matter how hard we try to build good homes for our families, it will never be perfect. No amount of books or Bible reading can protect our homes against the bumps and bruises of life. In the same way that we have minor or serious scars from our childhood homes, our children will bear some as well. That is why David wanted so badly to move in with the Lord permanently.
When David asks the Lord to live in His house all the days of his life, it is because he knows that it is a perfect Home. “The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections" (Psalms 27:4, NLT). David knew that only God’s perfect standard can bring real goodness to our lives. “Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living” (v. 13).
Every day, we see many good things around us. An excellent quality product that was well designed. A successful initiative that changes the lives of many. But there is always a gap or a flaw, if you look long enough. The rich man in Mark 10 knew it all too well. I think we can assume that he had access to the finest of everything life could offer. And perhaps Jesus cut straight to the core when He challenged the rich man’s perception of goodness. “‘Why do you call Me good?’ Jesus asked. ‘Only God is truly good’” (Mark 10:18, NLT).
Do you sometimes feel disappointed in something or someone that you thought was good? How would it change our expectations when we keep in mind that only our heavenly home in Christ is truly good?
Let us enjoy God’s goodness as we find our homes in Christ. And let us bring His goodness to our earthly homes each day. “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6, NLT).
Konsènan Plan sa a

There is no place like home. Many songs and movies have been inspired by a longing to go home. Even the great King David just wanted to be home in the Father’s house (Psalm 27:4). But why? What would make life better there? In this plan, we will explore how to live in our Father's house each day while we are still on earth.
