Love That Heals the Pain | a 7-Day Plan by Doxa DeoEgzanp

Compassion
Love moves us from mere concern to compassion. Jesus was moved by compassion for hurting people. He was aware of their pain.
Matthew 9:35-36 ESV “And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
We must become aware of the PAIN of the people in our communities, but we also need to be aware of the PAIN in the church. Any dysfunctionality, confusion or relational breakdown will cause the church to be ineffective in its impact in the community. We are not talking about perfection, but rather that of a healthy, vibrant faith community.
In order for us to go beyond simply caring about the condition of our world, and begin having active compassion for our world, we have to change our mentality, our philosophy, our theology and our understanding of the world. (Alan Platt, City Changers)
Christ sends us into the world to be a source of light in a dark world.
What are the concerns you have regarding your community?
Do you have compassion for the people in your community?
