I have a deep love of perfume. I love the whole process of spraying perfume and allowing the fragrance to touch everyone I come into contact with. I wish I could spray it on once and have that scent remain on me all day, but I find myself having to reapply it to keep the smell alive. 

In his epistle, James reminds us that this precious gift called life we have been given lasts only about as long as a vapor. Our days on the earth are limited and very precious; we must not waste a moment. 

So the next time you spray yourself with a fragrance, take a moment to observe how quickly the vapor fades. 

In light of eternity, this is how long our lives last.

We must ensure that while we are here on the earth, we do not waste a second. We have a mandate to fulfill, an objective to accomplish, and we only have as long as the clock is still ticking. There are people all around you who need to experience the unconditional love of God. Invest this time you have been given for the sake of eternity.
