Frisbee faith

I don't know about you, but frisbees are genuinely amusing. Have you ever noticed that if you throw the frisbee into the wind at a 60-degree angle, the frisbee goes up and then will return to you? It's a pretty compelling trick that naturally leads people to explore how far they can throw a frisbee, with it still returning to them. It’s a great comparison to explain our journey with God. At one point, we were distant and moving away from God, but then something changed, and now we're moving back towards Him. 

When we chose to believe in Jesus, the frisbee of our life suddenly began to return to Him. The result of that is that we are now close to Him and can enjoy a relationship with Him. The Bible defines this as, 'reconciliation' [Rom 5:12]. You were once far from God, but are now coming back, closer to Him than ever before. You can stand confidently in the presence of God, knowing you have been reconciled back to Him [Col 1:22]. Your decision to follow Jesus was a brief moment that changed everything, and in that moment, the frisbee of your life turned around, bringing you back to Jesus. 

PRAYER

Jesus, thank You that You brought me back to You, that even though I was so far away, You made a way to bring me back into relationship with You. Jesus, I thank You that no matter how far I may have run or the mistakes that I made, that You're always there. As I grow closer to You, I pray that I grow in my understanding of Your love and desire for me and deepen my devotion to wanting to know You more. In Jesus' name. Amen.
