Many live exalting the Hustle and the Grind. Their lives are filled with rules and law, they're always busy, and they project a burdened and heavy lifestyle onto others.
Contrast this with how God wants us to live: with joy, free from burdens and heaviness. He loves celebration and fun! Opposite to the rigid demands of the religious expressions of His day, Jesus said his way of life was "easy and light." We want this in every aspect of our lives! Joy is a primary fruit for those who "abide in the vine" and bear the "fruit of the Spirit." Jesus came to bring joy!!! He wants to give it to you. Receive it!
Spend some time with God reflecting on these questions.
1. What burden is the Lord asking you to give to Him? In what ways is God asking you to rest from your labor? (i.e. limit your efforts) What is killing your joy?
2. How is God asking you to step into greater joy with Him?
