Practice Meditating on God’s WordEgzanp

TURN your Heart
Our culture says that our heart is in the driving seat and we should follow it.
Proverbs 2 v 2 challenges that idea, promising that if we make our ears attentive to God’s word, our hearts will incline towards God’s wisdom. This is the essence of biblical meditation - looking attentively at a truth until it becomes what our hearts treasure.
As we dive back into Genesis 1 v 1 ask the LORD to speak to you. LOOK again at the ‘treasure’ you found: for example, it may be the simple truth that as Creator, God is in control.
Turn | Use the following questions to turn your heart so that it really treasures that truth.
Expose the lies your heart believes:
How does the devil deceive us with the opposite of this truth?
What are the consequences of not believing this truth?
Explore the truth in God’s word:
What do we learn about this truth in the passage, elsewhere in Scripture, in the New Creation?
In what ways do we glimpse Christ?
Turn your heart :
Confess how your heart feels about this truth.
Think about the consequences you deserve and ask Jesus to take these on himself.
Believe that you are forgiven and ask for help to change.
