Confined or Conquerors?

Judges 1:34
“The Amorites confined the Danites to the hill country, not allowing them to come down to the plain.”

The Danites had been given an inheritance along the fertile coastal plain, the same area that now produces fruit and vegetables that are exported around the world. However, the Amorites with their iron chariots lived there, as did the Philistine giants. These enemies confined, or pressed, the tribe of Dan into the rocky, hilly area of limited space. If we do not confront the enemies in our lives, they will confine or oppress us. We must confront the enemy if we are to possess our inheritance. The lusts of the flesh, pride, fear of man, bitterness, selfishness and greed all confine God’s people and keep them from the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. God’s desire is to make us overcomers by teaching us about our authority in Christ and his transforming victory on the cross. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave himself for us.

Lord Jesus, I repent for not confronting sin and the enemies in my life. Lead me into victory by your Spirit, through your resurrection power.
